Please read these terms before using FloatCam. By continuing to use the app or related pages, you acknowledge and agree to these rules.

1. Service Description

FloatCam is a macOS camera preview overlay tool. It displays your front camera on screen to support system recording, QuickTime, or other screen capture workflows.

FloatCam is not a full video recording, editing, streaming, or cloud upload service.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use FloatCam in a lawful, appropriate way that respects the rights of others.

  • Do not use FloatCam to record or distribute illegal, infringing, harassing, or fraudulent content.
  • Before recording video that includes another person's likeness, voice, screen content, or copyrighted material, make sure you have the necessary rights and consent.
  • Do not attempt to damage, reverse engineer, abuse, or bypass the app's technical limits.

3. Camera Permission and System Environment

FloatCam needs macOS camera permission to show the preview. If required permissions are disabled, the camera is being used by another app, system restrictions apply, or the device environment is abnormal, the preview may be unavailable.

You can manage camera permission in macOS System Settings.

4. Recording Results and Content Responsibility

FloatCam only displays the camera preview. Screen recording files are created, saved, and shared by the recording tool you choose.

You are responsible for checking your recording results and for the consequences of recording, saving, publishing, or sharing video.

5. Apple Platform Terms

If you obtain or use FloatCam through the Apple App Store, you also agree to the applicable Apple App Store terms and the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). If these terms conflict with mandatory Apple terms, the Apple terms control to the extent of the conflict.

6. Intellectual Property

The FloatCam name, interface, icons, page design, copy, and related code are owned by the developer or its licensors. These terms grant you only a limited license to use the app according to these terms and do not transfer any intellectual property rights.

7. Availability and Changes

We work to keep the app available, but we do not guarantee that FloatCam will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every macOS version, camera device, recording tool, or use case.

We may adjust, suspend, or discontinue some features as product development, system limitations, or maintenance needs require.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

FloatCam is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Unless applicable law provides otherwise, we make no express or implied warranties about continuous availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or recording results.

To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, our liability for losses caused by use of or inability to use FloatCam, disabled permissions, device issues, recording content disputes, unexpected recording results, or third-party tool issues is limited to the extent permitted by law.

9. Terms Updates and Contact

We may update these terms as features, legal requirements, or service methods change. The latest version will be published on this page.
